About the Summit
NCBPA welcomes all industry professionals and stakeholders to attend or support the Summit to help create the workforce resources our industry needs to be successful.

The Summit is not an event to attend and listen -- it's a working event.  The morning's opening presentations will share stories of success and need from across the state, helping attendees understand what we have, what we need and how to get there.  Afterward, working groups will be formed from diverse backgrounds -- faculty, industry pros, students and government representatives working together to discuss needs and opportunities.

Lunch will provide "near peer" networking so that attendees can meet and discuss workforce needs and opportunities with peers from their own region.  It's likely that through this format, industry pros responsible for hiring interns, co-ops and graduating students will be connected with the faculty from their region's college or university.  New relationships will be formed to help bridge gaps and provide much needed resources.

The Summit will wrap-up with working group sessions focused on developing the actual resources we need to be successful.  This will include:

  • An outline for a modernized curricula that colleges and universities can use to train our industry's future workforce.
  • A career "lattice" that illustrates to students (and their parents) the job, career and educational opportunities available in our industry.
  • The requirements our industry supports for Apprenticeship programs that will help train future leaders that will work for our companies.
